Start off Spring with a trip to Wakatobi, a luxury dive resort in the Wakatobi National Marine Park in southeastern Sulawesi, Indonesia. Offering a a tranquil island setting far from crowds and cities, there are no other dedicated diver resorts for at least 100 miles. The marine park is the third largest in Indonesia and the Wakatobi region is considered to be the epicenter of coral reef biodiversity. 85% of the world's coral reefs are located in the Indo-Pacific region, and as you travel either east or west from the epicenter of biodiversity, the number of species decreases. With more than 50 mapped and named dive sites all within a short boat ride of the main resort the dive experience is truly unlimited. Though with a world famous House Reef, some divers find themsleves choosing only shore diving. A taxi boat service is available to transport to you up current to extended parts of the House Reef to explore or enjoy a beautiful drift back to the jetty.
We will be staying in one of the ocean bungalows, just steps from the ocean, featuring large front porches with comfortable lounge beds and stunning sea views. All meals and snacks are included and are chef-prepared at the beach-side restaurant. Spend your off-gassing time at one of the on land activities: try out kite-surfing or paddle boarding, go bird watching the Onemobaa nature trail, take a village tour or a trip to the spa, or simply relax and take in the views.
